De Bono's Thinking Hats

De Bono's Thinking Hats are basically the points of view that could arrise in any topic or discussion.  There are six diferent thinking hats which are each represented by a colour.
The Yellow hat represents the positive points of view.  Questions that should be considered when thinking of the positive points of view all have to do with the benefits. What are the good points?  Why can this be successful?  Why is this a good thing?
The next hat is the Blue hat. This is all about the process.  This covers questions such as 'where are we now?', 'What is the next step?', 'Where have we been?' and 'what sort of thinking is needed'.
The white hat is where you consider the objective points of view.  This is where you think about the information you have, need and want and the facts on the topic.
The forth hat is the Black hat which is all the negative points of view.  This is when you judge what is wrong with it, why you think it won't work, the safety aspects and wether it can even be done.
The Green hat is the creative hat.  This is where you think about new ideas, suggestions for success and if you can create something new from it all.
The final hat is the Red hat covers the intuitive points of view like how you feel about it and what you like or don' like about it.

I participated in a discussion using De Bono's Thinking Hats when contributing to the moodle wiki on using mobile phones as a teaching tool/resourse.  This is the negative side to the disscussion and therefore comes under the Black hat.

I found that the sharing and viewing of everyones points of view was very helpful for me as I got to get a better understanding on how to see things in a different light.
